Bridgeport resident receives the Peggy A. Montes Unsung Heroine Award
11th District Cook County Commissioner John P. Daley and former 19th Ward Alderman and Cook County Commission on Women's Issues Commissioner Ginger Rugai were proud to honor Bridgeport resident Pamela Munizzi with the Peggy A. Montes Unsung Heroine Award this month. This award is given to recognize a women in each Cook County Board District for their vital contributions to our local communities. Pam is currently the Special Olympics Coordinator for Chicago Public Schools and she has been an active volunteer with many local organizations for the last 25 years serving in many capacities with Special Olympics, including service as a Board Member and eventually President of Special Children’s Charities. Commissioner Daley offered “many thanks to Pam for using her time, talent and spirit to improve and enrich the lives of others and to her family and friends for joining us at this wonderful event.”
2017 James Tyree Emerging Business Leadership Award
Cook County Commissioner John P. Daley and Alderman Patrick D. Thompson would like to encourage our small local businesses in the ward to apply for the 2017 James Tyree Emerging Business Leadership Award
The Tyree Award is presented annually to a high-growth small business with a demonstrated commitment to philanthropic values that best represents the spirit of the late Chicagoland Chamber Chairman and business leader James Tyree. The recipient will receive $50,000 in cash and valuable small business training and consulting from the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce.
The open application period runs now through March 17th. Information about the online application may be found on the flyer below.
